“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” — I John 4:8
My granddaughter who stays with us has a new puppy and her name is Roxie. I don’t have a single thing against pets, but it was just not something that I wanted. Now, what I have learned from this experience so far is that this tiny little dog is loving, energetic, caring and the best friend in the world. Does she have her shortcomings, oh yes she does, but don’t we all in our own way have them? Well, she adores her “Mama” who is Makayla, our granddaughter. If she isn’t home, Roxie is always looking for her. She recognizes her name, and she will walk to her room every chance she gets and when she sees that Makayla isn’t there, she turns around and leaves. She has also grown to love my husband and I as well. When Makayla is there, she is on her heels all the time and wants to be by her side every minute. She will take a little time to play with me and Glenn, especially Glenn. He loves her big time and plays with her every chance he gets. She loves to ride. If Makayla is outside and she thinks that car is fixing to go somewhere, she is running and jumping all around the car begging for the chance to get in.
She has also learned that she gets to ride in our car sometimes as well, so she gets pretty excited if she sees her seat going in the car. Yesterday we took her out and she jumped in the car before I could even get the seat in good. When she rides, Glenn rides in the back seat with her and she will do surprisingly well, especially if he keeps his hand on her, so she feels secure.
I have used this example today because in my mind I see God’s love just as wonderful. He wants to be by our side all the time. Even if we can’t actually see Him, we know He is there all the time. I also know that he keeps his hand on us all the time so that we feel safe, loved, and secure. We have no reason to worry or fret because His hand is always there touching and making us feel secure. I pray that today you will accept God’s love because nothing would make Him happier than helping you feel His love. God will bring comfort and joy too but in a much bigger way. Please pray today for forgiveness of your sins and accept the love that God is waiting to show you for the rest of your life and after life as well.
PrayerDear God, I ask you to open our hearts to receive your perfect love. Forgive us for believing the enemy’s lies and for the times we’ve willingly turned away from you. Free us from earthly hurts and wounds that keep us from drawing close to you. O Lord, you are the only source of love in this world because you are love, in Jesus’ name, amen.
